Hi there, I'm Dr Jasmine Moses, and you are listening to. Children Deserve Better. This is the space where we dive into social justice, community challenges and those taboo topics society often avoids breaking them down into meaningful conversations for children and actionable steps for the adults guiding them. I'm an anti-bias, anti-racist, early childhood educator, the owner of Equity in Bloom and a proud toddler mama. You might already know me as at the anti-bias ECE on Instagram, where I'm committed to helping you raise and teach socially conscious, equity-centered children. On this show, I am your partner in progress, helping all of us confront hard truths, imagine new possibilities and take bold steps towards building a just and liberated world for our children.

Across the country, books are being banned, histories are being erased and policies are being written to uphold systems that harm Globally, Genocide and violence devastate communities, while, closer to home, a new administration and shifting legislation shape the future of our children and their communities and our children. Their lives are on the line. These deliberate actions send the message, loud and clear, about whose stories, lives and futures are even deemed valuable. Our children can feel it, they see it and they carry its weight every single day. But here's the truth none of us are free until we're all free. Collective liberation is the goal, and it begins with how we show up for one another through community care, solidarity and the courage to disrupt what doesn't serve us. This podcast is a call to action. It's time we think critically about the choices we make, what we teach, how we advocate and how we show up for the next generation.

Who is this podcast for? It's for anyone who believes children deserve better. It's for those ready to lean into uncomfortable conversations and disrupt systems that fail our children and us. Whether you're raising a child, teaching a classroom, working in your community or trying to make sense of the world, this space is for you.

Here you'll find tips, tools and resources to guide you from having tough conversations with children to creating change in your community. My goal is to leave you with something tangible every episode and, yes, you might feel uncomfortable with the topics at times. Discomfort is part of growth. It's a sign that you're stretching beyond what's easy and into what's necessary.

My ask of you is this take what resonates and put it into action. Whether that's in your home, your classroom or your community, it all matters. Change doesn't happen on its own. It happens when we show up, even when it's hard, and we commit to doing better for all of us. When you know better, you do better. There's room for all of us here, with our unique strengths and skills, to contribute to this movement. Let's begin this journey to unlearn, relearn and grow, one conversation at a time.
